AI Dance Video Generator: Make Your Photo Dance

An AI dance video turns one still photo into a short clip of that person performing a set routine. In the Ginly AI app you choose a routine from Dance & Performance Effects, add one full-body photo and the app generates the moves, with no prompt and no reference clip. Scuba, the routine shown here, starts with both fists raised to the face.

  • In the app: Scuba
  • Available on: iPhone, iPad and Android

What happens in the video

The Scuba preview shows three dancers taking turns with the same routine, each seen head to toe. A woman in a pink cropped jacket, plaid mini skirt and chunky white sneakers stands against a plain white studio wall and brings both fists up to her face. A man in a black shirt and trousers repeats the move in a wood-paneled room, swings one arm out and sinks into a wide stance. Last, an upright tabby kitten wearing a steel cooking pot as a helmet copies the pose on a kitchen floor.

What is the AI dance trend?

The AI dance trend runs on one surprise: a still photo of someone who has never learned a routine suddenly performs one. People use it for birthday shout-outs, group-chat jokes and surprise reveals. In Ginly AI you don't write a prompt or supply a dance clip for the AI to copy; each routine's choreography is fixed in its template, so one photo is the whole input. To get a different dance from the same photo, pick another routine and generate again.

How to make it with Ginly AI

  1. Install the app on iPhone, iPad or Android, then sign in or tap Continue as Guest; either way you can make videos.
  2. On the Effects tab, open Dance & Performance Effects and choose a routine such as Scuba, Emergency Beat or PUBG Winner Hit.
  3. Add one full-body photo from the camera or gallery, and crop loosely so your feet and both arms stay in the frame.
  4. Tap Generate and follow the clip to your Library; once it's finished, download the MP4 or send it through the share sheet.

Tips for the best result

  • Use a full-length photo with your feet in the frame; in the Scuba preview every dancer is shown head to toe.
  • Stand facing the camera with your hands empty; Scuba starts by bringing both fists up to the face.
  • Leave space on both sides when you crop, because arms swing out and stances widen during the moves.
  • Pick a photo with just you in it, or crop a group shot down to one person before you generate.
  • The kittens in the previews are sample clips; we haven't tested pet photos yet, so start with a photo of a person.

More versions of this effect in the app

Emergency Beat — A kitten in a yellow hooded onesie dances in a cobblestone town square, then a man in a cap and wide jeans strikes poses against a wooden wall.
PUBG Winner Hit — A victory-style dance: a woman sways and swings her arms in a room with butterfly wall decals, then a man in a black suit and red tie throws both arms overhead.

Ideas to try

  • Birthday shout-out: with your friend's OK, turn their favorite full-length photo into a dance clip and post it on their day.
  • Group-chat roll call: everyone sends in a photo of themselves, you give each person a different routine, and the clips play one after another.
  • Pair it with the Army Dreamers AI trend: a calm, spinning teacup portrait first, then you breaking into a dance.

Frequently asked questions

Which app makes the AI dance video?

Ginly AI, which runs on iPhone, iPad and Android. Its Dance & Performance Effects category holds the routines, and each one turns a single photo into a dancing clip inside the app. Browse all AI video effects for other ways to animate a photo.

How do I make an AI dance video from a photo?

Choose a full-length photo, open a routine such as Scuba in Ginly AI, add the photo, crop it loosely and tap Generate. The finished clip lands in your Library as an MP4 you can download or share. For other ways to bring a still picture to life, see how to turn a photo into a video.

Is the AI dance video app free?

There's no charge to download Ginly AI. Making a dance clip uses credits, which come with the weekly Plus, Pro and Ultra plans; new accounts may get free starter credits to try a routine first, and a daily gift of credits may be running. Credit offers can change.

Do I need a prompt or a dance clip to copy?

No to both. The choreography is built into each template, and Ginly AI only takes photos as input, never video. One photo is all a routine needs; for a different dance, choose a different routine.

Can I make a friend or family member dance?

Yes, as long as they agree. Ask before you use someone else's photo, never use a clip to embarrass, mislead or impersonate anyone, and say it's AI-made when you post. Ginly AI is for users 18 and over.

Why was my dance photo rejected?

Automated content filters at the AI providers decline some photos, for example ones containing nudity. Choose another everyday photo and try again. If a clip fails after you've tapped Generate, you can ask for a credit refund from the Library, within the app's limits.
