Best AI Hug App: 6 Apps for AI Hug Videos on iPhone and Android

Looking for the best AI hug app? We compared Ginly AI with five apps that come up in App Store, Google Play and web searches for AI hug videos, using each app's official store listings as checked on October 1, 2026. Short answer: for a hug video from one photo with no prompt, start with Ginly AI; for a wider photo-animation toolkit, look at Revive; to describe your own scene in words, try Boom AI, Hugi AI or VideoMax.

We make Ginly AI, so we list it first. Facts about the other apps come from their official store listings, linked in each section, or from our own searches on October 1, 2026, and we say where they are stronger.

AI hug apps compared

An AI hug app (also called an AI hug generator or AI hug video maker) turns a still photo into a short AI hugging video: two people, or a person and an animal or figure, moving into a hug. Some use ready-made templates; others also let you describe the scene in words.

Official store listings, checked October 1, 2026. Platforms are the phones and tablets each listing names; “Photo” means the listing doesn't say one photo or two.

How we compared them. On October 1, 2026 we read each app's official App Store and Google Play listings (descriptions, compatibility, in-app purchases, update dates), searched the US App Store and Google Play for “ai hug” and “ai hug video”, and ran a web search for “best app for ai hug video”. We didn't buy plans in the other apps, so we describe pricing models, not prices, which vary by country and change often.

1. Ginly AI: hug videos from one photo, no prompt

Ginly AI turns a photo into a short AI video using ready-made effect templates. We list it first because it is built for this job: pick a hug effect, add one photo and tap Generate, with no prompt to write. It has 100+ templates, runs on iPhone, iPad and Android, and is free to try, since new users may get free starter credits. Its hug scenes and related effects:

  • Hug: two people turn to each other and share a warm hug. Use one photo of both, or choose “2 separate photos” and the app places them side by side in one image (AI hug video).
  • The Tiger Touch: a tiger appears behind you and wraps its paws over your shoulders, a playful fantasy scene.
  • Classic Hug: two photos shown side by side come together into a warm cheek-to-cheek hug.
  • Warmth of Jesus: a haloed figure of Jesus joins you and embraces you (AI Jesus hug).
  • Baby Arrived: an AI-generated toddler jumps into a couple's arms for a family hug, an imagined scene (AI baby generator).
  • Looking for “hug your younger self”? Meet Younger Me (AI younger self) shows a younger you beside you, and Meet Older Me (AI aging video) brings in an older you. Both are meetings, not hugs.
  • Platforms: iPhone and iPad (iOS 13 or later per the App Store listing) and Android 7.0 or later. Get the app.
  • Pricing model: free to download. Creating a video uses credits. Credits come with weekly subscription plans, and subscribers can top up with credit packs. New users may get free starter credits and a daily credit gift may be available; offers can change.
  • Account and languages: guest mode works, so no sign-up is needed, and the interface is available in 11 languages.
  • Output: a short video, about 5 seconds for each hug scene above, to download or share.
  • Made by: MIND MONS BİLİŞİM TEKNOLOJİLERİ SANAYİ VE TİCARET A.Ş., Ankara, Türkiye (about us).

Where others are stronger. Ginly AI has no prompt box for custom scenes and doesn't make photos sing or talk. Clips are a few seconds long, every video uses credits, non-subscribers see subscription offers in the app, and there is no computer version.

2. Revive

Revive is a photo animator from RefaceAI Limited, whose developer website is reface.ai. Its App Store and Google Play listings describe an AI hug generator for hug videos with loved ones, plus photo dances, transformations such as mermaid and warrior, holiday collections and photos that sing or talk. Of the six, it overlaps most with Ginly AI; see also apps like Revive.

  • Platforms: iPhone and Android; the App Store listing also names Macs with an Apple M1 chip or later.
  • Pricing model: a weekly PRO subscription, a lifetime access option and avatar packs (App Store in-app list); in-app purchases on Google Play.
  • Where it is stronger: a wider toolkit, with photos that sing or talk, AI avatars and headshots, plus a lifetime access option. On the App Store since June 2022, it ranked third in our US App Store search for “ai hug”.
  • Limitations: hug videos are one feature among many, and both listings were last updated on July 1, 2026.
  • Best for: hug videos plus a broad photo-animation toolkit.
  • Ginly AI is not affiliated with Revive or its developer.

3. Boom AI

Boom AI, published by NineG, is built around hug and kiss scenes. Its Google Play listing describes animated hugs and kisses, walking scenes and explosions, plus videos made from a written idea; it is also on the App Store.

  • Platforms: iPhone and Android; the App Store listing also names Macs with an Apple M1 chip or later.
  • Pricing model: weekly, monthly and yearly subscriptions plus coin packages (App Store in-app list); in-app purchases on Google Play.
  • Where it is stronger: a hug-first focus plus a prompt option for scenes no template covers. It came up near the top of our US Google Play search for “ai hug video”.
  • Limitations: the iOS app was last updated on February 19, 2026, and its App Store listing shows English only.
  • Best for: simple hug clips, with the option to describe a scene.
  • Ginly AI is not affiliated with Boom AI or its developer.

4. Hugi AI

Hugi AI, from Godeb Group LLC, is an iPhone and iPad app. Its App Store listing describes trend effects (dances, fight scenes, transformations and magic clips) plus videos made from a written description. The description doesn't name a hug effect, though a developer reply to a review mentions an “AI hug video” feature. In our check, its App Store page was the top web result for “best app for ai hug video”, and it appeared in US App Store search for “ai hug”.

  • Platforms: iPhone and iPad; we found no Google Play version.
  • Pricing model: weekly and yearly auto-renewing subscriptions plus Starter, Pro and Mega packs (App Store listing).
  • Where it is stronger: a prompt option alongside the effects, and a recent update (September 16, 2026).
  • Limitations: iPhone and iPad only, and the description doesn't say which hug styles it offers.
  • Best for: iPhone users who want trend effects plus a prompt option.
  • Ginly AI is not affiliated with Hugi AI or its developer.

5. VideoMax

VideoMax, from COREMAX AI PTE. LTD., describes itself on the App Store as an AI video app with a choice of AI video models, “AI Magic Effects” such as muscles, explosions and fireworks, and videos made from a written idea. Its description doesn't name a hug effect, but the app was in the top five of our US App Store search for “ai hug video”.

  • Platforms: iPhone; we did not check Google Play.
  • Pricing model: weekly, monthly and yearly plans plus coin packs (App Store in-app list).
  • Where it is stronger: a choice of AI models and a prompt option, neither of which Ginly AI offers. Its listing was updated on September 29, 2026.
  • Limitations: no hug styles named in the description, and no confirmed Android version.
  • Best for: iPhone users who want to mix ready-made effects with prompts.
  • Ginly AI is not affiliated with VideoMax or its developer.

6. YouCam Video

YouCam Video, from Perfect Mobile Corp., is a video editor first (auto-edit, enhancer, captions, face retouching) with an AI video generator built in. Its App Store and Google Play listings describe “AI Group Video”, which merges two photos into one pair shot for couples or pets, and its maker publishes an AI hug video how-to built around the app.

  • Platforms: iPhone and Android.
  • Pricing model: a premium subscription, monthly or yearly.
  • Where it is stronger: a full editing toolkit that Ginly AI doesn't have, an App Store listing in 26 languages, and an online hug video tool for computer users, per its maker's how-to.
  • Limitations: it is an editor first, and AI generation is one module among many.
  • Best for: a complete mobile video editor plus AI pair shots.
  • Ginly AI is not affiliated with YouCam Video or its developer.

Photo tips for a better hug video

  • Use a clear, well-lit photo where both faces are visible and uncovered.
  • With two separate photos, match the framing and light: one person per photo, both facing the camera.
  • Crop out anyone who shouldn't be in the hug.
  • Results vary with the photo, and the AI providers' content filters reject some photos. If a video fails, you can request a credit refund from the Library (limits apply).

How to choose an AI hug app

  • Your device: Ginly AI, Revive, Boom AI and YouCam Video are on iPhone and Android, and Ginly AI and Hugi AI also list iPad. We found Hugi AI only on the App Store and checked VideoMax only there.
  • Templates or prompts: a template gives you a ready-made hug scene; a prompt lets you describe your own, with more freedom but more writing.
  • One photo or two: if the two people aren't in one picture, look for a two-photo option, such as Ginly AI's Hug and Classic Hug or YouCam Video's AI Group Video.
  • How you pay: all six are free to download and charge through in-app subscriptions, coins or packs; auto-renewing plans are cancelled in your store settings.
  • Privacy: read the privacy policy before you upload anyone's photo, to see who processes it.

Consent, respect and sensitive uses

Only use photos you have the right to use, and get permission before you put someone else in a hug video. Never use an AI hug video to deceive, harass, embarrass or impersonate anyone: label it as AI-generated when you post it, and never present it as a real event. Ginly AI is for adults 18 and over. Photos of children should only be used by their parent or legal guardian, and never put a child in a hug with a stranger.

Some people make a hug video with a photo of a parent or grandparent who has passed away. If that is why you're here, take your time: the video is AI-imagined and may not look exactly like them, and it's fine to keep it private.

App names belong to their owners. Store facts were checked on October 1, 2026 and can change; to report an error, email [email protected].

Try it yourself — pick an effect, add a photo and Ginly AI creates the video.

Frequently asked questions

What is the best AI hug app?

It depends on your phone and how much control you want. For a hug video from one photo with no prompt on iPhone, iPad or Android, we recommend Ginly AI (we make it): pick the Hug effect, add a photo of two people or two separate photos, and tap Generate. If you also want photos that sing or talk, Revive covers more ground, and if you want to describe your own scene in words, Boom AI, Hugi AI and VideoMax offer a prompt option.

What app makes the AI hug video on TikTok?

No single official app is behind the AI hug videos on TikTok: creators use different apps and web tools, and posts don't always say which one. Ginly AI's Hug effect makes this kind of clip from one photo of two people, or from two separate photos, on iPhone and Android with no prompt. When you share yours, label it as AI-generated. Ginly AI is not affiliated with or endorsed by TikTok.

Is there a free AI hug app?

All six apps on this list are free to download, and paid features usually come through subscriptions, coins or credits. Ginly AI is free to try: new users may get free starter credits, and a daily credit gift may be available. After that, credits come with weekly subscription plans. Offers can change, so check inside the app.

How do I make an AI video of two people hugging?

In Ginly AI, open the Hug effect. If both people are in one photo, keep “Single Photo”; if not, choose “2 separate photos”, and the app places both photos side by side in one image that the AI turns into a hug video. You can use at most two photos. Our two-photo guide covers cropping and photo choice.

Do I need a prompt to make an AI hug video?

Not in Ginly AI. Every effect, including the hug effects, has its instructions built in, so you only add a photo and tap Generate. Prompt-based apps and general AI tools ask you to describe the hug in words instead, which gives more freedom but means writing and refining the description yourself.

Are AI hug apps safe to use?

Read each app's privacy policy before you upload photos, to see who processes them and what your options are. In Ginly AI, the photo you choose is processed by the third-party AI services listed in our Privacy Policy, and you can delete your account in the app or ask us by email. Ginly AI is for users 18 and over. Only use photos you have the right to use, and get permission from everyone who appears in the video.
