AI Money Rain Effect: Make It Rain Banknotes Around You

The money rain effect turns one photo into a short AI video, about 5 seconds long, in which a bundle of banknotes bursts above your head and the notes swirl and rain around you. You make it in the Ginly AI app from a single photo, with no prompt to write and no green-screen footage to line up. The result is a new clip generated from your picture, not an overlay for a video you already shot.

  • In the app: Money Tornado
  • Available on: iPhone, iPad and Android

What happens in the video

At the start, a man in a plain white T-shirt stands still in the middle of a city street lined with brick buildings, arms at his sides, looking into the camera. A bundle of banknotes appears just above his head and bursts, hiding his face for a moment. As the notes scatter, he opens his arms with his palms up and breaks into a grin. Generic green bills whirl around his head and shoulders and flutter past his chest. Pedestrians appear on the street behind him, and he is still smiling, arms wide, as the last notes drift down past his waist.

How to make it with Ginly AI

  1. Download Ginly AI for iPhone, iPad or Android, then sign in or tap Continue as Guest; a guest account can make videos too.
  2. On the Effects tab, open Luxury & Lifestyle and tap Money Tornado, or look it up with the search on the All effects screen.
  3. Keep the default Single Photo for a solo clip, or switch to 2 separate photos to include a friend, whose picture the app sets next to yours in one image. Add your photo from the camera or gallery and crop it.
  4. Tap Generate, which deducts credits, and the app takes you to your Library, where the clip shows as creating. When it's done, download the MP4 to your gallery or share it.

Tips for the best result

  • Frame yourself from the waist or thighs up, facing the camera, as in the preview's opening shot; the bills need room to fly around your head, shoulders and outstretched arms.
  • Plain, light clothing helps the money stand out: green notes show up clearly against a white T-shirt, less so against a busy print or a green jacket.
  • Start with empty hands. The arms swing out wide with the palms up, so a phone, a bag or a drink in your hand could end up in the way.
  • For a two-person clip, use two photos taken at a similar distance and in similar light. The app scales both to the same height and centre-crops the pair to 16:9, so a close-up next to a full-length shot can look uneven.

Ideas to try

  • Small-win celebration: passed your driving test or finally finished a big project? Post your own money rain clip with a jokey caption and an AI label, so nobody takes it for real cash.
  • Board-game night trophy: once the winner and the runner-up both say yes, put their photos into Money Tornado with 2 separate photos and send the clip to the group chat.
  • Same photo, two endings: run one street portrait of yourself through Money Tornado and the AI bald filter, whose preview opens on the identical portrait, then let friends vote on the better twist.

Frequently asked questions

Which app makes the money rain effect video?

Ginly AI makes it, on iPhone, iPad and Android. In the app the effect is called Money Tornado and sits in the Luxury & Lifestyle category, alongside private jet AI and the sketch-to-catwalk AI fashion video; the rest are on our luxury lifestyle AI page. It starts from one photo, or from two separate photos if you choose that option.

Is the money rain effect free?

Partly. Installing Ginly AI is free, and the effect is free to try with the starter credits that new accounts, guests included, may get, plus a daily credit gift when one is offered. Beyond that, each money rain clip is paid for with credits from a weekly subscription plan, and subscribers can add credit packs if they run low. Offers can change.

Is the money rain effect a green screen overlay?

No. Many money rain effects online are green-screen clips or transparent overlays that you layer onto your own footage in a video editor. Ginly AI does it the other way round: it generates a new video from your still photo, with the banknotes already part of the scene, and saves it as an MP4. There's nothing to key out, resize or line up.

Can I put two people in the money rain video?

You can start from two people. Money Tornado is one of the few Ginly AI effects that offers 2 separate photos: the app scales both pictures to the same height, places them side by side and centre-crops the result to 16:9, and that single image is what the AI animates. The preview only ever shows one man, so we can't show you a two-person result in advance. Ask your friend before you use their photo, and see how to make an AI video from two photos for more.

Do I need a prompt for the money rain AI video?

No. With prompt-based AI video tools you'd have to describe the falling cash in words. Money Tornado already carries its own fixed instructions, so there's no text box at all: you pick the template, add a photo and tap Generate.

Why was my photo rejected for the money rain effect?

The AI services that generate Ginly AI's videos run automatic content filters, and they turn down some photos, for example ones with nudity. Choose another everyday photo of someone who has agreed to it and try again; if a video fails after you tap Generate, your Library offers a credit refund (limits apply). Whatever you post, label it as AI, never present it as real money or a real event, and never use it to deceive, harass, embarrass or impersonate anyone.
